Dr. Sonja Arndt

Sonja’s work in teaching, research, and academic studies focuses on the intersection of feminist poststructuralist philosophies concerning the formation of individuals, the concept of ‘Otherness’ in both humans and non-human entities, and the field of early childhood education. Her specific area of interest involves challenging the generalizing oversimplifications within the less explored domain of cultural and racial diversity among educators.
She has a substantial record of publications and actively collaborates with both national and international networks. Currently, she is engaged in a DECRA project, exploring the construction of teacher identities and the complexities that emerge when one confronts the unknown aspects of the self, acknowledging the universality of being strangers in some capacity.
Furthermore, Sonja serves as the Vice President of the Philosophy of Education Society of Australasia and contributes significantly to various editorial projects. Notably, she co-founded the book series titled “Children: Global Posthumanist Perspectives and Materialist Theories” and serves as the Deputy Editor of “Policy Futures in Education.”
Dr. Widya Karmila Sari Achmad

Dr. Widya Karmila Sari Achmad, S.Pd., M.Pd., is a distinguished academic and serves as Lektor Kepala / Associate Professor in the Department of Elementary School Teacher Education at Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM). Her work primarily focuses on teacher preparation, social studies, primary teacher education, and language instruction.
She is actively involved in the education sector, serving as a lecturer and contributing significantly to the development of future educators. She has also conducted guest lectures at various academic institutions, reflecting her commitment to sharing knowledge and expertise.
She actively serves as an assessor at the Educational Sel-Accreditation Institute (LAMDIK) and as a Lecturer Certification assessor for university lecturers throughout Indonesia. Additionally, she holds the position of chairperson of the Indonesian Primary School Teacher Education Lecturer Association (HDPGSDI). Dr. Widya has also served as the Head of the Service Center for Field Experience Practice/Professional Experience Practice, and Industrial Practice/Field Work Practice at the Institute for Development and Quality Assurance of Education (LP2MP) at Universitas Negeri Makassar.
With an impressive educational background, including a Doctorate (S3) in Educational Science from Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM) in 2018, Dr. Widya has actively contributed to various research projects and community service initiatives. She has presented her research at numerous scientific seminars. She is an accomplished author, recently contributing to the collaborative book “Pedagogical Pathways,” co-authoring a significant chapter.
Prof. Adibah Binti Abdul Latif

Initiating her illustrious career at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2003, Dr. Adibah has since become an integral part of the School of Education, Faculty of Social Science and Humanities and also appointed as a distinguished research fellow at the Centre of Excellence in Fiqh, Science, and Technology. Holding an educational qualification in Educational Measurement and Evaluation, Dr. Adibah has carved out a niche for herself, showcasing expertise in educational measurement and assessment, holistic assessment, and psychometrics. Her dedication to the field has not gone unnoticed. She is a celebrated recipient of teaching awards both at the National and University levels, including the accolade of ‘Transformative Teaching: Alternative Assessment’. Over the years, Dr. Adibah has made significant contributions by actively participating as a panelist and speaker for government bodies, agencies, industries, and the community. In the sphere of academic publishing, Dr. Adibah boasts over 65 publications in WoS and has been an active participant in 80 research grants as both principal investigator and team member. Her mentorship has illuminated the path for many, resulting in 28 Ph.D. and seven Master’s graduates under her esteemed guidance. Currently, she supervises 18 ambitious postgraduate students.Dr. Adibah’s passion extends to pedagogical innovation, where she has successfully commercialized various services and products, both locally and on the international stage.

Professor Nakaya Ayami’s research interests encompass Peace Education, Global Citizenship Education, Local Curriculum Development, and Education in Indonesia. Her work in the field of peace education involves a comprehensive analysis of curricula concerning peacebuilding across various countries. She also delves into the historical aspects of education, curricula, teaching materials, and classes in the region, particularly focusing on post-conflict areas.
Her exploration of Local Curriculum Research critically examines the educational and social roles of locally developed curricula. For instance, she assesses the effectiveness of region-specific curricula in addressing peace-related challenges and delves into the educational dynamics concerning identity formation.
Additionally, her research delves into international human resource development, the impact of international education, and the intricate relationship between regional development, local identity, and global citizenship in education. Her research primarily focuses on Indonesia and Japan.
Her recent scholarly works in the past five years revolve around diverse themes, including multicultural education to mitigate ethnic conflicts in Indonesia, the societal contributions of Chinese affiliated universities in Indonesia, support for out-of-school children in Indonesia, perceptions of high school students and their parents regarding international education (baccalaureate) in Japan and Indonesia, global/national/local citizenship education in Japan and Indonesia, service learning in Indonesia, global competency development in Japanese high schools, and acceleration and enrichment education in Indone
